The Hlayasani school is ready

After eighteen months of preparation, a construction period of three months and intensive involvement of sponsor AFAS , the new school is ready. After a positive assessment of the inspection principal Monica could take the key official receipt.

The new school can accommodate 80 to 100 children, nearly doubling the current number of pupils. A more than welcome addition to this relatively large area, where the school also serves as a social meeting place. To give an idea: 8000 people live in the environment around of the Hlayasani school. The average maturity distance to school is more than an hour by foot.

The new building has a good kitchen, ‘real’ restrooms, an office and an infirmary. This Hlayasani facility meets all requirements to qualify for a structural government subsidy. The vegetable garden was laid out and there is a water supply. Beginning in 2019 Bambanani explains here a third Moringa plantation, which we sustained the independence of this school give a huge boost.

In the coming weeks will be moved, arranged and can start getting used to the new location. The school looks forward to also welcome a few new students! On behalf of the team and all the kids: Baie Dankie AFAS!
