Despite all the COVID struggles, storms and heavy rainfall in 2021, we succeeded. The Bambanani Education Center & Home Base is ready! Great news and a huge step forward in making the local organization self-reliant.

The new building includes two large classrooms and two kitchens. From now on we will train our teachers and cooks there professionally, so that they can take even better care of the Bambanani kids. In addition, there is sufficient space for the safe storage of the food program and all school and soccer league materials. Finally, there is living space for our local support and refuge Pinkie Khosa and two volunteers.

Together with Piet Mars on behalf of the AFAS Foundation, we thoroughly inspected the building at the end of last year and made a number of final improvements. We are very proud of the end result! The official opening will take place in the coming months. The name will come as no surprise: with an incredible amount of thanks to the AFAS Foundation, our local home base will be called ‘AFAS Education Center’.
