Slow (re) start, emergency fund remains necessary!

11 November 2020

With the shift to lock-down phase 1, we hoped that most of the Bambanani children would be able to go back to school this month. Unfortunately, the reopening is slower than expected and hoped for. That means the Bambanani Emergency Fund is still very much needed!

Only when the Social Department has checked on site whether the necessary protective materials are present, a school may reopen. All our 96 schools are well prepared and meet all safety requirements. But visiting and checking by Social Development takes time. More time than we would like! Moreover, we notice that many parents are very frightened. They are afraid of getting infected and therefore prefer to keep their children at home. It is estimated that roughly 10 Bambanani schools are now open again, with about a third of the usual number of children. They eat at an appropriate distance from each other, but how nice it is to be able to do that together with the teacher, friends and girlfriends!

Until all Bambanani children can go back to school, we keep the Bambanani Emergency Fundin the air. Do you want to contribute to this? Then click here.
